# Competitor comparison starter Free worksheet from Atumara Group. Compare five businesses in one service area using public information. This kit contains a CSV, one fictional example and five empty working rows. It does not include researched findings or the completed paid competitor report. ## Use the worksheet 1. Write the business type, one service area and the decision you want to make in your own project notes. Choose five comparable businesses. 2. Import competitor-comparison.csv as comma-separated UTF-8 text in your spreadsheet app. Keep Business ID as text. Turn on wrapping and filters if useful. Keep the fictional row separate or delete it before sharing findings. 3. Fill B01-B05 from each business's own public pages. Put the numeric price in Published price amount and the currency in Currency. Record the service unit, minimum scope, starting-price wording and any stated exclusions together. If a price is unavailable, leave the amount blank and explain why in Missing or conflicting information. Never use zero to mean unknown. 4. Put each supporting page URL in Source URLs, separated by semicolons. Map important facts to the matching URL in Evidence notes. Record when you checked it as YYYY-MM-DD. Paraphrase short facts rather than copying paragraphs. 5. Keep evidence separate from your interpretation: Observation describes what the comparison suggests; Possible next action is a choice to consider. Review status can be Not started, Needs source check, Needs clarification or Checked. Checked means only that the recorded facts were checked against the cited pages. 6. Recheck prices and qualifications before using the sheet for a decision. A published starting price is not a current personalized quote. ## Finish with three observations In your own notes, write three short observations. For each, name the supporting business IDs, the relevant facts, your proposed next step and what remains unknown. Compare similar service scopes; do not rank different packages by headline price alone. ## Fictional example F1 is an invented source for an invented company: Cedar Home Cleaning advertises standard home cleaning in Willow District, starting at USD 95 per visit for up to two bedrooms. Extra services are priced separately. Its fictional page has a quote-request form. Tax inclusion and appointment availability are not stated. The example is not about a real business, and no real page was retrieved. ## Limits and reuse Use public business information only. Do not collect customer lists, personal profiles or private revenue estimates. Missing information is not evidence that a business lacks a service. This small snapshot cannot establish market size, service quality or future sales. The CSV has no formulas, live data, automatic scoring or updates. You may use and adapt this original starter for your own work. A separately scoped paid review would add researched evidence, a written summary and reviewer checks; this free file does not include that service.
